Sally Van Meter is known for being the "Queen of Tone" amongst her
musical peers and students. Hailing from Northern California, residing
currently in Colorado, Sally teaches privately and at the Swannanoa
Gathering, Common Ground, Rocky Grass Academy and SoreFingers music
camps across the US and in Great Britain and is well respected for her
focus on lyricism, tone, taste, and timing in her classes and being able
to get you in the driver's seat taking solos even if you don't possess
music theory. Sally has performed and recorded in the US, Europe, and
Japan with the Good Ol' Persons, Jorma Kaukonen, Scott Nygaard, David
Grisman, Jerry Garcia, Tammy Fassaert, John Reischman, and more. In her
spare time, Sally wears the producer's hat in the recording studio,
makes 16 mm short films and loves late night jamming, whilst trying to
figure out how to jam with all those hot players that tend to hang out
at music camps.
